NoVA began his work for peace and nonviolence in 2003 collecting more than 30 years of experience of his team. Some of the current members of NoVA were the founders of the first groups of concience objectors of the Spanish state and over the years have created or participated actively in various international initiatives and campaigns to defend and promote the culture of peace, the dialogue among cultures, international legality and justice.

The Council of NoVA helps drawing the basic lines of activity of the program and is actively involved in some activities that are carried out. Its members are now: Jordi Agulló, Pepe Beúnza, Simonetta Costanzo, Luis Fenollosa, Mariana Gavris, Joan Ramon Gordo, Ramon Marquez, Pau Olivella and Joan Surroca.
